During her residency program at Les Laboratoires d’Aubervilliers in Paris, the artist encountered a group of youngsters who are living on the ‘banlieues’ (suburbs). While people’s participation takes on different forms each time, linked to the basic structures the artist proposes, the youth represents the formation of resistance and emancipation through the discipline of the boxing. Owning a duel identity as North-African origin French, the circumstances they face in a daily basis do not undermine their disciplines and potential. The attendance of this particular boxing club are mostly female that two amongst them all are ranked as world-class and national champions.
