Senatore’s participatory art combines the process of participation in the work through various disciplines. The dimension of the work allows the audience to receive and interpret different viewpoints.

The final work that is presented through the awarded grant offered by AMACI*, is freely inspired by Love Stream, the 1984 film directed by John Cassavetes. Based on a project commenced in 2011 in New York and executed three years later thanks to the opportunity of the production grant, the Jammin’ Drama Project unities representatives of the various communities living in Harlem, from African-Americans to Hispanics. Invited by the artist through an open call, the members of these sometimes separated groups and very proud of their identity, worked to create a scenario that was then played by two professional actors (not from the communities) in front of the authors.

The project is a participatory work of art conceived as a work in progress aimed at putting together different communities that live together in the same territory, to show the processes through which they are able to coexist without giving up their own identity.
