Io contengo moltitudini
2024
Rotonda Diaz, Naples
Curated by V. Trione
The installation, titled “Io Contengo Moltitudini,” is a luminous diptych and playground conceived in dialogue with the square, overlooking the seafront. It consists of two luminous sculptures connected by a dancefloor: a space that invites collective participation. The first sculpture replicates the structure of a choir, inspired by ephemeral Baroque scenographies; the second sculpture at the base features a square platform, upon which stands a tree-like construction composed of 16 signs arranged in the shape of a cone. Recovering phrases from vernacular tradition, some signs display sentences selected in collaboration with local associations and schools. Both interventions are linked by a platform consisting of a dancefloor crossed by footprints and steps. The installation emphasizes recurring themes in Marinella Senatore’s poetics, such as the use of light as an activating and cohesive element and the involvement of communities, celebrating the close connection with the Neapolitan territory through collaborations with institutions like the Academy of Fine Arts and the Melissa Bassi Higher Education Institute in Scampia.
